Etosha Elephants

Derek Puffett: Etosha Elephants – wildlife photographer.

Etosha elephants number about 2500.  They occur either in breeding herds, numbering up to 50 or in bachelor herds of two to eight males.

The bachelor boys are usually found on the open plains and in Acacia Nebrownii thickets. Breeding herds, consisting of females with their calves and young males prefer the acacia, sand-veld and mopane woodlands.
